Mountain Climbing 101

Our Uncle Scott will be happy to see that yesterday was a big day in our boys' lives: they discovered tree climbing. Now granted, up here on the muskeg we don't have all that many strong and sturdy trees to climb. But yesterday O Boy found first one, then another, and then another that would actually hold his weight way up to the spindly top. Of course Mr. T followed bravely along behind him and found one of the many trees O Boy climbed that he could climb too. So up and down they went all afternoon, pushing farther out into the woods to look for higher and sturdier trees. It's their first step to climbing mountains with Uncle Scott in a few years.

This was dubbed, "The Learning Tree" by O Boy because it was the first one he found he could climb. It was also the shortest tree. He quickly advanced onto taller trees!
"Anything you can do, I can too!" Mr. T loves this tree because it tall, strong enough for both boys to climb at once, and...he can climb it just like O Boy! If you click on this picture to enlarge it you'll see his little smile peeking through the branches.
