One of the things we did alongside our unit on Night Tree was to string popcorn, dried apple peels and cranberries (as they did in the book) with our h'school friends. This activity was made even more fun by the fact that we all gathered at the Weather's yome which is, I believe, 225 square feet of creatively organized coziness. Which is why we stood (on the futon) to take all the pictures. A little update on the popcorn/cranberry strings: a month or so later and the birds haven't touched these lovely little strings. So we probably won't be repeating this activity next year! Apparently the birds around here have many other more delicious things to eat!
