Making ice cream

O Boy and friend jump and shake their ice cream into a frozen froth:

Last week we made ice cream with the playgroup crew. It was suggested to me by a former playgroup friend who moved away and is moving back AGAIN to Petersburg, I think solely because of our amazing playgroup (right, Megan?) :-) Just kidding! Thanks to Megan for letting us know about this delicious and easy recipe. If you have kids who love to jump and shake, you've got to try this recipe:

In a sandwich size ziplock bag combine:
- 1/2 cup milk (can be cream or even lactose free)
- 1 T sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla

In a large ziplock bag combine:
- 1 cup (+) ice
- 6 T salt
- ziplock bag of milk

Shake it up until the milk bag freezes. Carefully remove it so that salt doesn't get on your ice cream!
