How is this possible?

First, please note the temperature on our back deck today.  Also, please be aware that the white patches directly beneath the thermometer and off the deck are deep piles of snow.
Here's Mr. T in the pool (I admit, it was filled with warm water!).  Notice the snow off the deck...
And here's how much snow is in our side yard.  Yes, O Boy is playing in just a pull-up!

Spring in Alaska can be crazy!

Her first wave

Okay, okay, it might be a random hand flail. But we'll take what we can get at this point!

We have half a swingset!

Still not enough snow melt to really do much swinging...and going down the slide dumps you right into the snow bank.  But it's melting.  Slowly.  And yes, O Boy is wearing a pink snow hat.  It is the Little Sweetie's but he pulled it on and, since it stretched (very tightly) over his head, insisted that it fit him just fine.

These are shots from another wonderful storytime (this time on rain) by our friend Becky.  She always tries to do a puppet show for the kids and then let them play with the puppets afterwards.  It's amazing how much this age loves puppets!

Here's Mr. T with his "raaaaring" dinosaur.
Mr. T, Charlotte and O Boy doing a little puppet interaction.

This is Becky acting out a song with Mr. T.  Can you tell how why we love storytime?  She's awesome!

A picture to remember

I love this picture of O Boy for several reasons:
  1. He got himself into the big double bed during his quiet playtime and fell asleep all on his own.
  2. He is proudly wearing his hot air balloon sticker which he received from the doctor today at his 3 yr checkup.  Receiving the sticker made going to the doctor totally worthwhile.
  3. He is sleeping with his baby, who is still called Josie after my mom's neighbor.

Playing baby

The boys thought it would be lots of fun to "play baby" the other day with their baby.  Here is a tiny slice of the drama.  It basically meant that they thought it gave them carte blanche to cry very loudly whenever they wanted for as long as they wanted.  Nice!

Tummy time

I love this picture because it looks like she's saying, "This tummy time is no problem, Mom!"  The real reason she's leaning casually to the side is that seconds after this photo was snapped, she rolled.  She's learned that almost as soon as she gets on her tummy, she can roll in an attempt to avoid exercise time!

Springtime playtime

Just because this is probably a different kind of spring playtime than what some of the rest of you are experiencing, I thought I'd post these pictures.

The snow on our deck finally thawed enough to make some playable space for the boys.  They really liked chopping it into pieces with their "axes" (gardening trowels).  This day happened to be nice and warm (well - warm if you were wearing winter coats, hats and gloves!) so I went out to nurse the Little Sweetie in the sun while the boys played.

Here's O Boy testing the strength of the snow.  He has no idea that it is so soft...
And that he'll fall in up to his waist!

Taking the Little Sweetie for show-and-tell

Today Mr. T took the Little Sweetie in for show-and-tell at preschool.
He wanted to sing "I've been working on the railroad" to her, which is what he's doing here.
Each of the kids got to ask him a question in turn.  Every single one of them asked, "Do you like your baby?" to which he replied, "Yes!"  Gotta love preschoolers.

Little Buddies

Here's the Little Sweetie and good friend Tyler.  It's fun to watch them grow up together!
