On the run - Mr. T. amazed us by running almost the entire time. O Boy, on the other hand, slowly strolled far back in the distance picking up as many treasures as his hands could possibly carry. We had to stay somewhere in between. Since it's spring, one never knows when the bears will start to make appearances...
Here's O Boy with his hands crammed full of treasures. Look carefully!
I love the beautiful mountain reflected in the water behind O Boy.
Throwing rocks - an activity that could consume hours. Good thing there's an adequate supply!
Fish spotters: Phil and O Boy looking at baby fish.
Spring means lots of icebergs breaking away from the glacier around the corner from our town and floating around offshore. Sometimes they even end up on the beach! Even though it looks sunny (and it was), it was still blisteringly cold and windy down on the beach. We're a long ways from summer...
Mr. T. discovered one of Phil's old high school basketball jerseys in our dress up box the other and decided to wear it around for the rest of the day. He's ready to join the team...except the shirt might need a little hemming!
A rare smile from O Boy - yes, that is a smile! showing off his carefully constructed parade of cars. Right now the current two favorite activities with cars are lining them up for parades and parking them all in rows like a parking lot.
One of our children's books features all the words to Yankee Doodle - it's just an illustrated version of the song. (There are lots of verses that I'd never heard before). Our boys LOVE it. They both flip through the pages trying to sing it. Here's Mr. T's version:
As anyone who's worked with Mr. T. knows, we've been working up to jumping for a LONG, LONG time. A few days ago he started bouncing on our trampoline, and the next day he suddenly discovered he could actually jump! Hooray!
And not to be outdone...we should of course mention that O Boy has been bouncing around the house for months. His jumps on the trampoline practically rocket him into the stratosphere. But would he let me catch all this on video? Barely.
Round one for O Boy...Round two for the parents (Mr. T. is STILL sleeping in his crib despite numerous attempts to promote him to a big boy bed.) From the first night he's happily adjusted to this new situation and has only gotten out of bed once to get books. We can hardly believe it after the hours of wrestling with Mr. T. to get him to stay in bed. O Boy has even condescended to sleep with a pillow and blanket in addition to his beloved blankie and doggie. Amazing!
Here's a new sport invented by O Boy yesterday call Bubble-Basket-Tennis: 1. Take bubble wands that he discovered in a cupboard ("TENNIS!" he shouted when he found them). 2. Round up the huge, heavy basketball. 3. Line up at opposite ends of the hallway. 4. Knock the basketball back and forth, laughing hysterically all the while.
