Treasure bottles project in playgroup

Here's a great project for all you toddlers out there! In this project you fill rice halfway up in a clean, empty water bottle and then add as many small objects as you'd like. Everyone brought their own assortment from home so we had things ranging from dice to beach glass to screws to beads. Then fill up the rest of the bottle with rice and you have a treasure bottle! The small objects roll around and hide in the rice and are lots of fun to find. What we did discover is that the girls loved doing the "adding objects" part of this project and the boys liked eating and throwing rice and shaking everything out of the bottles once they were filled. A good time was had by all. This is an excellent fine motor and sensory integration activity for those moms like me who like to ruin fun things by knowing how valuable they are for your kids.

Physical Therapy fun

Practicing walking on a balance beam with T's Petersburg PT, Leslie.

He wasn't so sure about this activity of swinging on a buoy ball and then falling into a crash pillow.

Messy fun

Here are the boys fulfilling every occupational therapist's dreams: playing with pudding and cottage cheese. Sensory awareness skill-building at its messiest (and most fun)!

Painting in the bath

This picture was taken right after T discovered that he could also paint on himself!

Finally we can take a family walk!

It's fantastic to finally have 2 walkers who love to roam. They are excellent at finding and stomping in almost every mud puddle we pass.

Fun times with a silly baby

"Here we have the scene of the crime..."

"Yes, I'll confess! It was me! I spilled out all the water!"
