Hooray for sign language!

T's signing abilities have just skyrocketed in the last few months. As you see in this video, he is now able to do short "sentences" when he has someone cue him with the words...and sometimes even without the cues!

Current Obsessions

This is mostly an obssession of O's. Fairly every day now he heads down the hall to bang on the hall closet door, making vacuum noises and other "talking" sounds until I get the message that he wants the vacuum OUT! Then he just sits next to it and crawls around it, happy to just see it. He also uses a piece of the attachments to the vacuum as his very own vacuum and he crawls around the house with it, making vacuum noises.

Seconds after I turn the washing machine on these days I hear the pounding rumble of little feet - 1 crawling, 1 walking - heading to the laundry room to help out. It's a pretty funny thing to see a tiny little 11 month old trying to push a chair across the laundry room to me because he knows that's how he gets to stand next to the washing machine. It's a great opportunity for them to learn important lessons like how to take turns (there are enough dirty socks for everyone to share), why not to drink dirty washing machine water and why not to push your brother off the chair or slam the washing machine lid down on your brother's fingers. Next step: teach them to FOLD laundry.

We actually had an entire playgroup devoted solely to playing in, on, and around cardboard boxes. It was lots of fun - everyone brought boxes and we had ramps, houses, and tunnels all over the church fellowship area. For my boys, a box provides endless hours of fun.

Come on through, Dad!!

Now this is good imitation!

Imitation is a very important pre-speech skill and one that we've worked on for a very long time with T. It's so much fun to see him imitating in his own hilarious way.

O says bye-bye!

Ringbearer in Training

We are CERTAINLY thankful that T is walking - it was thought he might not walk until he was 3! Now he's gearing up for Aunt Julie's wedding in June. Don't worry Julie, we've got him on a rigorous training schedule!
